We're officially into the dog days of summer. The only upside to it is back-to-school time is right around the corner! Instead of devoting this issue to all things back-to-school, we're dedicating it to YOU, the parents, grandparents and caretakers. These last days of summer are yours as well and the transition back into the school year routine can be just as difficult for you, too. I'm giving you a few tips on how to handle the return to the routine in THE CHIN WAG. The web team has picked out some fantastic books and movie just for you in ON THE AISLE and THE READING ROOM; Lauren's filling us in on her vacation plans in LITTLE NIPPERS; I'm talkin' about sex, baby, in JO'S EDITORIAL; Catching you up on my latest in NANNY TIME; and we talk TEN QUESTIONS WITH ... Ayelet Waldman, the "baddest" mom we know (we know you will love her, too).

Happy July – almost August! We've all been working busily on the new site and are so excited to reveal it in the next week! For this month's eNewsletter, we're doing the birthday wrap up. I check in with Lauren in LITTLE NIPPERS to see how the girls' 2nd birthday celebration went. Then, I write a dispatch from physio on my post-surgery progress, give a final birthday wrap up, and announce the birth of my niece in JO'S MEMOIRS!

For JO'S EDITORIAL, I tackle the most common issue I face with families … behavior – and I'm not just talking children's behavior, but parents, too! My team researched some great articles and covered the topic of preparing teens and parents for college in THE CHIN-WAG. We also went a little Beverly Cleary crazy in our READING ROOM picks. You'll also see the theme was carried over a bit in ON THE AISLE.

I hope you all are having a lovely summer, enjoying your families, friends, and the warm weather. Remember to keep cool when the temp gets high, stay properly sun-screened and enjoy every minute of time outdoors…catching fireflies, laughing, playing, and springing for "five more minutes" of playtime.

From the web team: We want to wish Jo a very happy birthday! We hope you had a wonderful day! Best wishes! Xxoo

I hope all of you dads, granddads, uncles, and male caretakers had a great Father's Day! We love seeing the great influences you all have on the children whose lives you touch. We hope you rested up, as you all deserve it!

In this month's newsletter, I'm talking toddlers and behavior in JO'S EDITORIAL. Then, the movies featured in ON THE AISLE are a one-two punch of kid-friendly fun that adults will enjoy, too. The selections in THE READING ROOM take us to the beach and remind us of an old classic that's celebrating its 50th anniversary in print! My TIP OF THE MONTH will help you keep cool in the sweltering summer heat. I'm also giving away a fun book for parents this month, so check out the MONTHLY GIVEAWAY for more details. I talk summer plans with Lauren and her trio in LITTLE NIPPERS, My team has a cool (and fun!) idea for your kids in THE CHIN-WAG. And, I'll catch you up on my latest goings-on in NANNY TIME.

Jo Frost

P.S. We hope to launch the new site in the next few weeks, so keep an eye out for it!

I hope all of you mums, grandmums, aunts, and female caretakers in the U.S. had a wonderful Mother's Day!

My team has been feverishly working on some new surprises, set to be revealed next month.

Check out THE CHIN-WAG for more details. We also have some very exciting book picks in THE READING ROOM, one in particular is very exciting and interactive for the whole family! The movies in ON THE AISLE take us from a prince to true love and happily ever after. Lauren gives us her Mother's Day recap in LITTLE NIPPERS; my team, inspired by one of our book picks, came up with a TIP OF THE MONTH that's a perfect sunny and rainy day activity! I revisit some of my most-commonly asked questions in BURNING QUESTIONS/JO'S EDITORIAL and, I've some announcements of my own in NANNY TIME, so make sure to read till the end!

Hello, Hello to all the moms, dads, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and caretakers out there!
We are finally in the throws of spring and hope this means you've all been spending more outdoor time with the kids, breathing in the fresh air and freeing you all up from winter and a serious season of cabin fever!

This month's newsletter is chocked full of goodies!
In ON THE AISLE, we review everything from dragons to high school superheroes and a sad, but beautifully touching story about the relationship one dog has with his master. We went all graphic in THE READING ROOM this month and focused on graphic novels and picture books for kids of all ages. THE CHIN-WAG covers the importance of dental care from prenatal and infant to childhood. JO'S EDITORIAL explores the trend I've noticed recently with young girls, mums and body image. Our MONTHLY GIVEAWAY is a must-read for parents of APD (Auditory Processing Disorder) kids. We also have TEN QUESTIONS WITH... the author of our giveaway, Speech and Language Pathologist, Lois K. Heymann. And, in a bonus MONTHLY GIVEAWAY, will help get your child identifying fruits and veggies and keep them occupied (and their place-setting clean!) when you're out to dinner! In LITTLE NIPPERS, we catch up with Lauren and see how the girls celebrated Easter. Lastly, I'll take you to new heights with my latest NANNY TIME update.

Happy Spring!

After quite a long winter all over the northern parts of the equator, we hope everyone is starting to see a few signs of spring. A little greenery (or simply a few days without snow or rain will do for some of us!) As you may or may not know, March 14th was Mother's Day in the UK and Ireland. I want to wish a Happy Mother's Day to all of our mums there. I hope you had a wonderful day and did things that truly made you happy – or perhaps you did nothing at all, in which case, well done!

In this issue of the newsletter, you'll notice a few changes. Instead of the three burning questions, I'm going to choose a topic each month and write about it in JO FROST'S EDITORIAL. The topic will be chosen based on either the most popular posts (or post topic) on the website or from conversations I've had with recent SUPERNANNY families or even chats with mums and dads on the street. The topic inspiration will come from anywhere and everywhere. Never fear though, we'll still choose one Burning Question from the forums to answer each month! ON THE AISLE and THE READING ROOM are the new names for the Movie Screen and Library Corner, respectively. Occasionally, we'll also add THE LISTENING BOOTH to cover music for kids. The Bulletin Board is now THE CHIN-WAG (a slang term in the UK, to “have a chin-wag” means a chit-chat, gabfest, or other informal conversation). As our babies of The Baby Diaries are now nearly toddlers, we looked to another English colloquialism for a name to grow with them, thus LITTLE NIPPERS (a term of endearment, meaning a “little kid”) felt apropos. Lastly, my monthly dispatches, previously known as Jo's Memoirs, now boast the more apt name of NANNY TIME.

Enjoy the new editorial. We hope to introduce more changes in the coming months, but for now it's baby steps.

Happy Valentine's Day, everyone! We have some fantastic little Valentine's Day goodies in store for your kids, you, and your partner in this month's BULLETIN BOARD. We've chosen some adorable, Valentine's Day books for kids (along with a favorite year-round classic) in the LIBRARY CORNER. For the MOVIE SCREEN, we fell in love with Chris Rock's new documentary (made in response to a question from his daughter), and we revisit to classic movies we hope you'll introduce to your children, if you haven't already. Our TIP OF THE MONTH is for picky eaters and fretting parenting alike. I also check in with Lauren and her Valentine's Day plans in THE BABY DIARIES. And, we're taking a little break from the BURNING QUESTIONS this month, but will be back with some new ideas in the next newsletter. I'll also catch up with you in my MEMOIRS!

On another note, I'm in quite a celebratory mood this month because on March 12th, ABC will be airing the 100th episode of SUPERNANNY! Mark your calendars and tune in, we have a great and exciting show for you! And, U.K. fans, I haven't forgotten about you! My new series, JO FROST: EXTREME PARENTAL GUIDANCE is now airing on channel 4! But everyone can learn about the series and get weekly recaps by going to the new JoFrost.com home page!

Have a wonderful, loving Valentine's weekend!

Happy New Year to all! I hope you had a wonderful holiday season and managed to rest and recharge with a few extra days off. As we head into the New Year full of resolutions and promises, let's also not forget about new experiences and stepping out of your comfort zone. The JoFrost.com team thought we'd help push you a little by exploring a topic that isn't so comfortable, but essential: how to talk about sex with your kids. The BULLETIN BOARD explores this topic, along with my thoughts, on how to create an atmosphere of openness and trust. We jump from that topic into somewhat lighter fare with this month's BURNING QUESTIONS, which have been replaced by "The Four Ds." Once you learn The Four Ds, your life will have less physical and mental clutter and your entire family will lead a more harmonious life. The LIBRARY CORNER offers some of our new favorite books (and a classic), while the MOVIE SCREEN covers everything from tooth fairies and chipmunks to some 3-D blue characters. We also hear how the "triple threat" enjoyed their Christmas in THE BABY DIARIES, offer up a TIP OF THE MONTH that will have your child bringing home an empty lunch sack, and I'll round it out with my post-holiday update in JO'S MEMOIRS.

Keep it real this year and make a pledge to try new things and experiences. You'll never know where they might lead!

Happy Holidays to everyone! I know this time of year is exciting, fun, filled with chaos, family, friends, and food. And as great as it is to give presents, time and yourself to others, it’s also important to remember YOU. So, this month the JoFrost.com team has put together a newsletter for you. As we did once before (with some great feedback on the forums) we’re giving you our top picks for adults. Everything from the MOVIE SCREEN, to “TWELVE THOUGHTS FOR CHRISTMAS (which replaces this monthly Burning Questions), and even our favorite books of the past year are represented in the LIBRARY CORNER... all devoted to YOU! The BULLETIN BOARD is talking up the team’s latest discovery (which might just have you starting up your own business!) Even Lauren fills us in on what she does for herself in the BABY DIARIES. The TIP OF THE MONTH is one for you, parents! And, I’ll check in with you (briefly) in JO'S MEMOIRS before I head out to do some last minute holiday shopping of my own! ‘Tis the season!
Much love, merriment, and best wishes for a happy and healthy new year for you and your families!

Happy Thanksgiving to my readers in America! I hope you're having a lovely holiday filled with family, friends, and good food! I know this time of year gets stressful for everyone, so please remember to have extra patience with your spouse/significant other, children, extended family, and even yourself. Sometimes just stepping back and taking a deep breath can make all the difference. Never forget the bigger picture and to embrace your family and friends and all the little moments in between.

In this month's BURNING QUESTIONS, I assist a mom and dad sort out their baby's feeding schedule, master the naughty step technique, and help a soon-to-be mom of twins cope with the recent loss of her own mother. The LIBRARY CORNER has your kids covered for Thanksgiving and in case they encounter any pirates or a sly, (but fantastic!) fox. On the MOVIE SCREEN, we caught a little 'tween Twilight fever, whilst making sure the little ones are also taken care of with two great movies for kids of all ages. We've combined the BULLETIN BOARD and TIP OF THE MONTH to give you a bunch of different ideas/tips on how to keep you sane whilst traveling with kids (whether by train, plane, or automobile) or just to keep them occupied pre-post holiday meal. The TIP OF THE MONTH will remind you to capture the little moments over the holiday season. And, I check up on Lauren and the girls in this month's BABY DIARIES. Lastly, a brief dispatch from me in my MEMOIRS.
Happy Thanksgiving!
